Metropolitan Police Apologises for Email Leak Involving 143 Individuals

The Metropolitan Police has issued an apology after unintentionally revealing the email addresses of 143 individuals associated with Mohamed Al Fayed. This incident occurred during a group update related to the ongoing investigation into the former owner of Harrods.

According to reports from The Telegraph, the police shared the email addresses in a message that also included around 12 additional recipients, leading to the unintended disclosure.

The police characterized the incident as a result of 'human error,' acknowledging the breach of privacy that affected those involved.

Additionally, The Independent noted that the Metropolitan Police has reported this matter to the Information Commissioner’s Office for further scrutiny.
