Elderly Aids Limited Fined for Targeting Seniors with Nuisance Calls
Elderly Aids Limited has been fined £190,000 for making nearly 760,000 nuisance calls to elderly individuals while selling call-blocking devices, the ICO reports.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has imposed a fine of £190,000 on Elderly Aids Limited for making a significant number of nuisance calls to elderly individuals. The company, which sells devices designed to block such calls, targeted these individuals with misleading offers from May 2024 to February 2025.
During this period, Elderly Aids Limited made a total of 758,053 cold calls to promote their call-blocking products. The ICO described these actions as hounding elderly people, despite the nature of the company's business being to protect them from unwanted communication.
The ICO stated that Elderly Aids Limited's approach was particularly troubling given that the company profited from selling a solution to the very problem it contributed to. This contradiction has raised concerns regarding ethical practices in telemarketing within the industry.

The fine comes as part of the ICO's ongoing efforts to regulate the telemarketing practices of companies targeting vulnerable populations. It emphasizes the authority's commitment to safeguarding individuals from excessive and misleading advertising techniques.
In response to the ruling, the ICO highlighted the importance of responsible marketing, particularly when it involves elderly individuals who may be more susceptible to such tactics. The organization reiterated its stance against persistent nuisance calls that compromise the well-being of this demographic.
This case follows a growing scrutiny of telemarketers, particularly those that target vulnerable groups with unsolicited offers. The ICO continues to encourage individuals affected by such practices to report their experiences for further investigation.
