Two fishermen from Mexico survived for five days in a cooler in the Pacific before being rescued. This was reported by the Mexican Navy, which provided details on the successful search and rescue operation.
The fishermen, aged 53 and 35, were found about 240 kilometers off the coast of the state of Chiapas. A fishing cooperative alerted the authorities after contact with the men was lost.
During their time at sea, the fishermen had no access to drinking water or food. Further details about their rescue and the circumstances that led to their survival are not yet known.
