The Democrats achieved a decisive victory in the midterm elections in the United States, taking control of both chambers of Congress. This shift marks a significant reversal in the political landscape, dealing a setback to the Republicans and President Donald Trump.

Among the most notable results of the elections were the victories of James Talarico in Texas, Adam Hamilton in Kansas, and Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. Democratic candidates dominated various districts, breaking over thirty years of Republican stronghold in some areas.

In response to this outcome, Trump criticized the Democrats, suggesting that the results were influenced by electoral fraud. Furthermore, the former president attributed the Republicans' debacle to the market collapse, expressing concern over the economic impacts of the electoral results.

With the new Congress set to take office in January 2027, the Democrats will hold a majority in both the House and the Senate. This will allow them to undertake actions that could significantly hinder the president and his administration's activities.

Trump has already begun taking measures within his administration, appointing Stephen Miller as the new Chief of Staff, replacing Susie Wiles. This decision is seen as an attempt to strengthen his position against a Democratic-majority Congress and to maintain his political agenda, particularly on immigration issues.

Markets reacted cautiously to the election results, initially showing signs of turbulence but later returning to positive territory, with Wall Street recording one of its best recent performances the day after the elections.
