According to a study conducted by Roole Data, the monthly fuel cost for a gasoline car rose during the first half of 2023, reaching 137 euros. This increase is attributed to the rising oil prices, influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

In 2025, the average fuel cost for a gasoline car was 119 euros per month, compared to 94 euros for a diesel vehicle. In contrast, the monthly cost to charge an electric car was only 45 euros, highlighting a significant price gap.

Roole Data's figures show that the cost of filling up with gasoline increased by 25 euros from the beginning of the year, rising from 112 euros to 137 euros.

For gasoline drivers, this figure represents a monthly budget three times higher than that of electric vehicle drivers, who spend about 46 euros to charge their cars.

This trend towards significantly higher energy costs for gasoline cars could influence consumer choices in the months to come, as interest in electric vehicles continues to grow.

Roole Data's analysis thus highlights the financial challenges faced by motorists due to the fluctuating situation of oil prices. It remains to be seen how this dynamic will affect the automotive market as a whole.
