The mother of the teenager emphasized the importance of increased vigilance over children's interactions on social media, stressing that these environments can be dangerous and many are unaware of what occurs on these platforms.

For its part, Discord acknowledged in a document sent to the federal government that there were signs of risk during the livestream leading up to the girl's death. However, the company stated that these signals were not sufficient to trigger a reliable alert in its internal system.
