According to a study by the Global Protection Cluster, 22 humanitarian operations in Mozambique revealed a significant increase in serious violations against children in 2025. The report indicates that 552 violations were documented, up from the 355 previously recorded.
The serious violations include, among others, attacks that directly affect childhood, particularly in the province of Cabo Delgado, which has been subject to multiple humanitarian crises.
Additionally, the study indicates that the decline in global funding has negatively impacted child protection in the country, further complicating efforts to safeguard the rights and well-being of children in Mozambique.
