Municipalities Demand National Effort for Water Supply and Climate Adaptation
The German Association of Cities and Towns calls for support for water supply and climate adaptation in light of the ongoing heat.

The German Association of Cities and Towns has called for a national effort for water supply and climate adaptation in municipalities. Due to the extreme heat in Germany, many cities and towns see an urgent need for action to ensure water supply.
Water levels in Germany's rivers are low, while soils are drying out. Some cities are already struggling with limited drinking water supplies, intensifying calls for immediate support from the federal and state governments. The municipalities are increasingly challenged to develop adequate measures against heat and water scarcity.
