NBI Files Human Trafficking Charges Against Leviste and Others
The National Bureau of Investigation has filed qualified human trafficking complaints against several individuals, including Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste, over an alleged plot involving Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has filed complaints for qualified human trafficking against Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste, former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto "Jing" Paras, and five others. The charges stem from an investigation into an alleged plot targeting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, which the NBI described as a “honey trap.”
According to reports, the NBI's evidence indicated that all elements required for qualified human trafficking were present in this case. The investigation focused on allegations that individuals involved had conspired to offer women and their sexual services to Recto.
The filing of these charges has moved from the NBI to the Department of Justice (DOJ), which will now handle the proceedings. The DOJ will assess the evidence provided by the NBI and determine the next steps in this case.

Sources state that the allegations include attempts to compromise Recto’s character through deceitful tactics. However, there are no further details on how the plot was allegedly executed or any reactions from those accused.
The case has garnered significant attention due to the involvement of political figures and the serious nature of the charges. Further developments are expected as the DOJ reviews the complaint submitted by the NBI.
