Network for evading Russia sanctions dismantled

The Austrian intelligence service has announced the dismantling of an international company network that served to circumvent EU sanctions against Russia. According to a statement from the Interior Ministry on Monday, the investigations primarily focused on a Vienna-based business and the supply of industrial goods.

The affected company was involved in smuggling machine tools and specialized tools to Russia, which can also be used for manufacturing military equipment. This includes, among other things, equipment that can be used in the production of cruise missiles. A more detailed overview of the investigations is expected.
