Austria records driest months since measurements began in 1850
Climate researchers report record drought in Austria lasting for a year, with no quick relief in sight.

According to climate researcher Klaus Haslinger from Geosphere Austria, the past twelve months have been the driest since weather records began in 1850. Rainfall deficits have been at record levels for a year, making the current drought particularly severe.
At some measuring stations, rainfall amounts are significantly lower than usual. Geosphere Austria points out that there is currently no quick relief in sight, which could further aggravate the situation.
