In Austria, the past twelve months have been the driest since official measurements began in 1847. According to Geosphere Austria, there has been a significant rainfall deficit during this time, which is not only unusual but also correlated with increased temperatures.

Records date back to 1850, and since then, no such low levels of rainfall have been recorded during this period. Climate researchers point out that even recent rainy days have not been able to change the persistent dryness.

The experts express skepticism about a quick improvement in the situation. Current weather patterns continue to show no signs of sustainable improvement in rainfall conditions.
