New Land Speed Record Set by Hydrogen-Powered Vehicle
A hydrogen-powered vehicle establishes a new world land speed record of 406.320 mph, driven by Andy Green.
British driver Andy Green, representing the engineering company JCB, has set a new world land speed record for a hydrogen-powered vehicle at a speed of 406.320 mph (653.864 km/h) with the JCB Hydromax.
This record-breaking attempt took place 20 years after Green previously set a FIA-certified diesel land speed record of 350.092 mph with the JCB Dieselmax.
In addition to this recent achievement, Green also holds the overall world land speed record of 763.035 mph, which he reached in 1997, marking him as the first person to break the sound barrier on land.
