New wave of bomb threats disrupts European air travel
On Thursday, several bomb threats were reported on European flights, prompting safety measures on various aircraft.

On Thursday, new bomb threats were reported on various European flights, leading to disruptions in air traffic. A total of reports came in from at least twenty airplanes, including those headed for Brussels, Rome, Warsaw, and several other European cities. The European Commissioner for Transport stated that it is still 'too early' to determine whether there is a connection between the reports.
One of the affected flights was an aircraft from the Polish airline LOT, which was en route from Warsaw to Brussels. This plane landed safely at Brussels Airport without requiring additional safety measures, according to the federal police. Meanwhile, another flight from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a French military base in Évreux due to a bomb threat. This Aer Lingus flight also landed safely, and the passengers and crew were subsequently taken off the plane.
In addition to the aforementioned flights, there were also reports for a Wizz Air flight from Milan to Warsaw and a Finnair flight from Helsinki to Rome. This is a repeat of incidents earlier this week when several flights also faced false bomb threats, but no explosives have been found on any flight so far.

French authorities confirmed that the 115 passengers and six crew members of the Aer Lingus flight are in good health after the unscheduled landing. They were taken off the plane, and bomb experts have been deployed to investigate the situation. This is standard procedure in such safety incidents.
The bomb threats have raised questions about their origin. According to some reports, the false threats for two of the flights to Rome may be related to an far-right Russian online group. However, this has not yet been confirmed, and no details have been released regarding who might be responsible for the threats that came in on Thursday.
It is clear that air traffic in Europe is once again under pressure due to this wave of bomb threats. As various aircraft are involved and the situation is unfolding, airlines and authorities remain vigilant. At this time, no direct connection is established between the different reports, but it remains a concern for passengers and airline staff.
