Nigerian security forces have rescued more than 300 abducted individuals in what has been described as the largest single-day recovery operation in the country's history. The operation took place in the dense forests of Kainji Lake national park, located in the north-central region of Nigeria.
The joint effort involved military personnel, police, and counter-terrorism units. The announcement of the successful rescue was made on Wednesday, revealing the scale of the mission undertaken to free the hostages.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the operation, emphasizing its significance for Nigeria's fight against abduction and insecurity.
