NLSIU Community Opposes Attendance of CJI and BCI Chair at Convocation

Students and alumni of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) have voiced their disapproval of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant and Bar Council of India (BCI) chairperson attending their upcoming convocation. Their opposition is rooted in a recent controversy involving the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, where they expressed solidarity with affected students and faculty.

The NLSIU community criticized the BCI's actions, labeling them a 'witch-hunt' and an infringement on free speech. They are concerned about the implications these actions have for academic freedom.

Additionally, they have called for an unconditional apology from the BCI to both the student and faculty community of NALSAR, aiming to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
