Munich's Olympic bid has been rated the best by the evaluation commission of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). This was announced shortly before the crucial vote on Saturday in Baden-Baden. Munich scored better than competitors Cologne and Berlin in the assessment.

According to reports published by various media outlets, Berlin ranks significantly behind the other cities. The report from the evaluation commission is considered a crucial factor in the upcoming decision on which city will represent Germany.

The decision regarding Germany's Olympic bid for future games will be made on Saturday in Baden-Baden. This will take into account the evaluation assistance published today by the DOSB, which identifies Munich as the frontrunner.

In addition to the bids from Munich and Cologne/Rhine-Ruhr, it has been announced that the capital Berlin will withdraw its Olympic application. This decision came as a surprise and has been confirmed by reports from rbb and other media.

The withdrawal occurred just days before the vote, where Berlin had been given little chance of a positive bid. In recent weeks, the focus had clearly shifted to the other two candidates.

Munich is pursuing the possibility of bidding for the Summer Olympics in 2036, 2040, or 2044. The current session's decision could be crucial for the future hosting of the Olympic Games in Germany.
