Oman is currently working to contain an oil spill resulting from the grounding of the tanker Caroline Bezengi, according to the Oman Environment Authority. The spill has reportedly impacted an area of approximately 390 square kilometers.
Al Jazeera notes that the Caroline Bezengi is considered to be part of a so-called 'shadow fleet' used by Russia to evade Western sanctions.
