Unidentified explosions occurred near a nature reserve, resulting in an oil spill off the southern coast of Oman. This situation has led to a major oil spill that poses a serious threat to the local environment.

NGOs Greenpeace and PAX have expressed their concern regarding this oil spill. According to satellite image analyses, the oil slick expanded between July 24 and August 4, 2026, covering approximately 600 square kilometers. Both organizations are warning about the potentially catastrophic consequences of this incident.
