Ombudsman recommends disaster fund after evaluation of Storm Kristin

The Ombudsman conducted an analysis of the response to the needs of the population following Storm Kristin, identifying "a relevant set of constraints" in the support provided. During the analysis process, best practices were also observed in how authorities managed the situation.
The report titled "Storm Kristin — Assessment of Housing Reconstruction Support" was released this Wednesday, highlighting both the challenges faced and the solutions implemented.

Based on the findings of the analysis, the Ombudsman formulated a recommendation for the creation of a regime and a fund dedicated to natural and seismic disasters, aiming to improve the response to similar events in the future.
This proposal aims to ensure more effective assistance to populations affected by disasters, reflecting the need for a more structured system to handle such emergencies.
