Osun Election: Adeleke Celebrates Victory Amid Concerns and Support for Tinubu
Governor Ademola Adeleke celebrates his re-election amidst allegations of electoral irregularities and reaffirmed support for President Tinubu.

In the recent Osun State governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke achieved victory at his polling unit, garnering 421 votes, which sparked celebrations among his supporters in Ede. Party members expressed their enthusiasm as results were sorted and collated, indicating strong backing for Adeleke in his campaigning efforts.
Conversely, the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a defeat of Adeleke and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at polling unit associated with former governor Rauf Aregbesola. The polling unit received significant attention during the elections, primarily due to Aregbesola's involvement in the voting process, highlighting the competitive nature of the election.
Amid unfolding results, Adeleke raised concerns regarding the integrity of the electoral process, calling upon President Bola Tinubu to instruct heads of security agencies to protect voters and maintain the efficacy of the voting system. This call indicates Adeleke's commitment to ensuring that every vote is accounted for during the election.
In addition, the Imole Campaign Council (ICC) expressed alarm over an alleged plan by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the election inconclusive. This claim adds to the tensions surrounding the election results and raises questions about the electoral process in Osun State.
Following his re-election, Adeleke extended gratitude toward President Tinubu, describing his victory as integral to democracy. He acknowledged the president’s efforts in supporting a free and fair electoral process.
The governor has also reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing the president as a
son of Osun State.
This endorsement received thanks from Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, who commended Adeleke for his integrity in publicly supporting Tinubu's upcoming electoral bid. Meanwhile, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State congratulated Adeleke on his re-election, emphasizing the collaboration and unity among leaders in the region.
