In the recent Osun State governorship election under the hashtag #OsunDecides2026, the Accord Party, led by incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke, has recorded significant victories. In the Osogbo Local Government Area (LGA), Adeleke received a total of 36,480 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 30,474 votes. This result illustrates a decisive win for Adeleke in a key area of the election.

Furthermore, the Accord Party claimed victory in Ife Central LGA, defeating the APC by a margin of 5,258 votes. This result was confirmed at the LGA collation centre, emphasizing the party's strong standing in that local governance region.

The Iwo Local Government Area also saw a resounding win for the Accord Party, with a significant margin of 7,425 votes against the APC. Such results from multiple local government areas indicate a substantial public support for Adeleke's re-election campaign.

In addition, Adeleke's campaign spokesperson, Olajengbesi, won his polling unit, marking a personal victory amidst the broader electoral success of the Accord Party. Meanwhile, in Oyinlola's polling unit, despite previous endorsements for the APC from Oyinlola, the Accord Party emerged victorious.

As results began to roll in, Adeleke’s campaign showed signs of an early lead after outcomes from 15 of the state’s 30 local government areas were collated. This positioned Adeleke as a strong contender as the counting progressed throughout the election period.

Reports have emerged that prior to the election results being declared, President Bola Tinubu extended congratulations to Adeleke. A chieftain from the Accord Party highlighted this interaction, noting it as a commitment to conducting the elections fairly.
