Osun Election Sees High Voter Turnout and Enhanced Security Measures
Voter turnout was high in Osun state with significant security personnel deployed in various areas, including Osogbo and Ilesa.
The Osun state election witnessed an early turnout of voters across several local government areas, including Osogbo, Ede North, and Ilesa. Reports indicated that some polling units saw voters arriving as early as 6:45 a.m. on election day.
In Ilesa West, at Ward D1, Unit 8, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were present, and voters checked their names against the posted voters' list. This scene was mirrored in various polling locations in the surrounding areas, where citizens exercised their right to vote.
Alongside the voter turnout, a heavy security presence was noted throughout the region. Significant numbers of police officers were stationed at key polling units to ensure a secure voting environment. This included deployment at a notable location near the home of lawmaker Fadahunsi, where security personnel were particularly concentrated.
