Palio di Siena postponed due to bad weather
The Palio di Siena della Assunta has been rescheduled to Monday, August 17, due to a heavy downpour.

The Palio di Siena della Assunta, originally scheduled for today, has been postponed to Monday, August 17, due to a heavy downpour that hit Piazza del Campo in the afternoon.
According to reports, the rain lasted about half an hour, making it impossible to carry out the Corteo Storico and the Carriera as planned.

The decision to postpone the event was made unanimously by the captains of the Contrade, as explained by Dean Alessandro Maggi, who emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of the horses and riders.
In response to the weather conditions, the green flag was displayed at the trifora of Palazzo Pubblico.
