Early Sunday morning, a Polish bus carrying 57 passengers and two drivers overturned on the M3 motorway near Mezokeresztes, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals and serious injuries to at least 10 others. The bus veered off the road and tipped into a ditch, as reported by Hungarian authorities.

Prime Minister Peter Magyar conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims through a post on social media. He acknowledged the severe impact of the accident and offered support to those affected by this tragedy.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the vehicle leaving the roadway. The driver has since been apprehended by local police for further questioning.
