Primoz Roglic has won the European time trial title at the European Championships in Slovenia. The 36-year-old rider from Red Bull Bora was six seconds faster in the 22-kilometer race around Ljubljana than Frenchman Bruno Armirail, who came in second.

The bronze medal went to French rider Maxime Decomble, who finished 28 seconds behind Roglic. The race featured a hilly course, with the Mozjanca as the main climb measuring 2.1 kilometers with a gradient of 10.2 percent.

Ilan Van Wilder from Belgium finished in fourth place, just five seconds off the podium. Van Wilder expressed his disappointment but accepted his result as part of the sport.

Marlen Reusser also scored an important victory during this period, successfully defending her title as European time trial champion. Reusser was recently also crowned world champion against the clock.

In this race, Swiss rider Reusser finished 23 seconds ahead of Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering, who took second place. Sandrine Tas and Lotte Claes, also from Belgium, finished in the top ten of the race.

The performances of Roglic and Reusser underline the strong form of the athletes in time trials, with both having defended their titles convincingly.
