During the recent migration crisis in Ceuta, Spain's Prosecutor's Office registered 16 sexual assaults, resulting in 17 victims, most of whom are minors. This information was disclosed by the State Attorney General, Teresa Peramato, during a visit to the autonomous city.

In addition to sexual assaults, the data presented by Peramato indicates an increase in property crimes and assaults on law enforcement officers since the end of July. This situation coincides with the intensification of the migration crisis in the region, which has brought greater challenges for authorities.

Peramato also announced that there will be a reinforcement of the institution in Ceuta, aimed at addressing the increase in crime and ensuring an adequate response to the needs of the population.

Authorities have expressed concern about public safety in the city, considering the context of the crisis. The assaults not only affect the local population but also the migrants present in the region during this period.

The situation in Ceuta continues to evolve, with authorities closely monitoring events and implementing measures to tackle the challenges associated with security and public health. The intervention of the Prosecutor's Office is seen as an important step in addressing emerging concerns.
