The Socialist Party (PS) has expressed its demand for increased resources in the municipality of Almada, aiming to ensure access to Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (IVG) services. Since August 10, Hospital Garcia de Orta has stopped providing this procedure, raising concerns among local citizens.

The Local Health Unit (ULS) Almada-Seixal has established a protocol with a private entity to address the lack of support at the hospital. However, the PS seeks to clarify the duration and cost of this agreement.

Local parliamentarians have highlighted the need to ensure that the reproductive health rights of the population are not compromised due to insufficient resources and inadequate infrastructure.

This situation raises concerns about access to IVG in the region and its implications for women who require this service, drawing attention from local parties and the community.
