The Socialist Party (PS) announced its intention to vote against the government's proposal to revise the urban rental regime during the discussion at the Assembly of the Republic scheduled for Wednesday.

According to reports, the government's proposal is being criticized by the PS, which disagrees with both the content and the legislative process that allows for legislation outside Parliament.

Additionally, the PS has also suggested the creation of a public guarantee as an alternative to address the rental situation.

The Chega party also expressed opposition to the proposal, suggesting a potential risk of rejection that could impact the progress of the new rental law.

Discussions on the New Urban Rental Regime (NRAU) will take place throughout the day, with the possibility of debates and reactions during the parliamentary session.

The government proposal, which aims to accelerate evictions and reduce rental contract durations, will be discussed in detail in the coming months, as indicated by various sources.
