Public sector unions call for general careers strike on October 2
Public sector unionists have scheduled a strike for October 2, demanding better recognition for workers in general careers.

Three public sector union bodies have joined forces to call for a general careers strike set for October 2. The decision was announced by the National Federation of Public Sector Workers' Unions. The unions demand recognition for professionals they describe as "the most poorly paid in public administration."
In addition to the strike, a demonstration in Lisbon is also planned for the same day. The unions hope to gather a significant number of workers to express their concerns and demands. The mobilization aims to highlight the working conditions of public employees.
The call for the strike and demonstration comes in response to a long struggle for better salary conditions and the recognition of general careers, which, according to the unions, have been historically neglected.
