A new public procurement law was published this Friday and is set to come into effect in October. This legislation brings several changes to the procurement rules that affect the public sector.
Among the main changes is the increase in value thresholds for simplified procurement. This change aims to facilitate and streamline acquisition processes within public entities.
Additionally, the new law removes the requirement for prior review of execution projects, which may impact how projects are managed and evaluated before being implemented.
The changes were officially announced, and implementation will occur in the coming weeks, providing a new legal framework for public procurement in Portugal.
