Rahul Gandhi has publicly challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to engage in an open debate, specifically regarding claims that Modi's ascent to power was enabled by 'foreign help'. This challenge arises after Modi had accused opposition parties of seeking foreign assistance to destabilize the nation, a claim that has sparked tension between the two parties, according to multiple sources.

In response to Modi's statements, Gandhi reiterated his call for a debate, insisting that these critical issues be addressed openly. BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, stated that the government is prepared to discuss various topics, including allegations of electoral fraud, in a forthcoming special Parliament session.

BJP spokesperson CR Kesavan reacted by labeling Gandhi's assertions as 'lousy lies' that undermine his credibility. The party has accused Gandhi of using foreign support as a political weapon against Modi, further complicating the political discourse surrounding the allegations.

Other BJP officials, such as Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, criticized Gandhi's proposal for a public debate, asserting that important discussions should take place within Parliament. Sarma encouraged Gandhi to raise significant issues during parliamentary sessions instead of pursuing debates outside legislative settings.

Nitin Nabin, another BJP leader, characterized Gandhi as a 'toolkit' for foreign influences, arguing that the Congress should focus on genuine grassroots issues rather than provocations that could lead to unrest. This viewpoint emphasizes the BJP's commitment to portraying itself as a stabilizing force amid allegations by the opposition.

Amidst these exchanges, JD(U) spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad suggested that Gandhi should utilize parliamentary avenues to express his concerns if he truly believes in democratic processes, adding another layer to the ongoing political discourse surrounding Gandhi's challenge.
