RCMP confirms death linked to wildfires in British Columbia

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has confirmed the death of an 80-year-old woman in connection with the wildfires in British Columbia. According to Radio-Canada, the woman attempted to flee the flames during the Bald Range fire, located in the Okanagan Valley.

The fires have affected several localities, including Faulder, west of Summerland, which was one of the first to be engulfed by flames, as reported by Le Devoir. As a result of the situation, thousands of evacuations have been ordered across the region this weekend.

A particularly concerning incident occurred near the home of a Quebec resident, where the wildfire came within a few feet of her residence, reported Le Journal de Montréal.
