Record number of tourism jobs in Spain: 3.1 million in July
Over 110,000 new members joined the tourism sector, reaching 3.1 million workers in July.

Employment linked to tourism in Spain reached a new record in July, totaling 3.1 million workers. This increase represents over 100,000 individuals who have joined the sector over the past year, according to data from the Ministry of Industry.
The growth in the number of workers has been primarily driven by the hospitality industry, where most of the new enrollments have been recorded. The upward trend in tourism has remained consistent, significantly contributing to the recovery of the labor market in the country.
ABC reported that the tourist boom has brought an additional 110,712 enrollments in the past year, thereby strengthening the services sector, which is consolidating as the engine of employment this summer.

The report highlights that in the first six months of the year, Spain welcomed 46.5 million visitors, bringing the country closer to its goal of reaching 100 million foreign tourists by 2026.
The increase in tourism employment reflects the recovery of the sector following the pandemic's effects, as well as the interest among international tourists in visiting Spain, despite the persistent global economic challenges.
With these figures, tourism is shaping up to be a fundamental pillar of the Spanish economy, demonstrating its importance not only in summer but as a growth engine throughout the year.
