Renewable electricity production in Portugal drops to 75% by July
The percentage of electricity generated from renewable sources in Portugal fell to 75% between January and July 2023, according to APREN.

According to a report from APREN — the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association, the share of electricity produced in Portugal from renewable sources was 75% between January and July 2023. This figure represents a decrease of three percentage points compared to the same period last year.
This situation places Portugal in fourth position among European countries with the highest percentage of renewable electricity generation. The country trails behind Norway, Denmark, and Austria, which lead this ranking.
