Terna: Record electricity demand in July in Italy
In July, electricity consumption in Italy exceeded 32 TWh, the highest figure ever recorded.
According to data provided by Terna, Italy experienced an absolute record in electricity demand in July, surpassing 32 TWh. This increase is attributed to high temperatures and a consumption trend driven by exceptional heat.
Compared to the same month in 2022, there was an 8.3% increase in consumption. Production from renewable sources accounted for 41.5% of the total energy needs, indicating a significant share of sustainable energy used.
