Rescue Operation Ongoing for Trapped Workers in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli
Eighteen workers have been rescued from a tunnel in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, after a sudden water inflow trapped several during heavy rains.

A rescue operation is currently underway in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, where several workers have been trapped inside a tunnel due to a sudden inflow of water and debris triggered by torrential rains. According to various reports, around 4 workers remain trapped, while efforts have successfully rescued between 14 and 18 individuals so far.
District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar confirmed that the rescue efforts are ongoing, with teams deployed swiftly to reach those still in the tunnel. The situation within the tunnel has been challenging, as the continuous influx of water poses significant risks for the trapped workers and the rescue teams alike.
Emergency services have been mobilized, and a coordinated effort is being made to evacuate the remaining individuals safely. As the rescue operation continues, authorities are monitoring the conditions closely to ensure the safety of both the workers and the rescuers.
