On the opening day of the European Championships in swimming in Paris, Roos Vanotterdijk was unable to secure a place in the final of the 100-meter freestyle. Although the swimmer from Houthalen started off sluggishly, she managed to swim a strong time to reach the semifinals.
In the semifinal, Vanotterdijk missed the final by just 0.08 seconds. Despite this result, she stated that she is satisfied with the start of her European Championships, emphasizing her stronger events that are yet to come.
Her next challenge is the butterfly stroke, scheduled for Tuesday. Vanotterdijk hopes to perform better there and seize the opportunity for a medal starting Wednesday.
