The Russian Embassy in London has confirmed that Andrei Kelin left his diplomatic post last month after more than seven years in office. His departure is linked to the increasing pressure from the Kremlin on Britain regarding support for Ukraine.

Kelin left his position on July 21, 2023. So far, Moscow has not named a successor. The ambassador's return could be interpreted as part of a broader strategy to influence British foreign policy, particularly concerning the perceived confrontation between the two countries.

In recent months, relations between Russia and the United Kingdom have intensified. According to a report by the Sunday Times, this could be attributed, among other factors, to the increase in British support for the Ukrainian armed forces during this time.

The Russian Embassy has criticized London's behavior, accusing it of pursuing a "confrontational course" against Russia. In this context, the ambassador's recall is seen as a gesture of discontent, reflecting the accumulated tensions between the two countries.

Additionally, there are reports that diplomatic relations remain strained. Media reports indicate that the ambassador has reported on the developments and tensions arising from the conflicts in Ukraine, which have affected both bilateral and multilateral diplomatic interactions.

Given the current situation, it remains unclear when and if a new Russian ambassador will be appointed in London, which could further escalate tensions in diplomatic communication.
