Samsung Electronics has announced its plan to return between 90 and 110 trillion won, equivalent to up to $80 billion, to its shareholders. This plan includes significant cash dividends totaling around 30 trillion won, expected in the third quarter of this year.

This move by the South Korean electronics giant reflects its strong market position, particularly following its acquisition of shares in SK Hynix, which has boosted its profit outlook. Investments in semiconductor technology, especially in artificial intelligence chips, have contributed to the company's record profits.

According to announcements, the planned return of 68 billion euros marks the largest dividend distribution in South Korea's history. The expectation is that this figure will surpass the previous record of 12.53 billion euros set in 2020.

In addition to dividends, Samsung is also forecasting a share buyback as part of its effort to enhance shareholder value. This strategy is part of the company's response to the strong and ongoing performance in the chip technology market.

Samsung's capital return plans are viewed as a strategy to bolster investor confidence and attract new shareholders, while demonstrating the company's commitment to returning profits to those who invest in it.

Samsung's announcement follows an increasing trend among large technology companies, which have begun implementing more aggressive measures in terms of financial rewards for shareholders, amid high profits and a favorable economic landscape.
