Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, the information chief of PBB, stated that the upcoming sitting of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN), scheduled for November, may be held earlier in October. This adjustment is intended to coincide with the announcement of the 2027 budget.

Karim emphasized that this change in schedule does not imply that there will be early state elections. According to him, the assembly sitting is primarily focused on budgetary matters rather than electoral considerations.

The remarks come amid speculation regarding the timing of state elections, with Karim's clarification aimed at dispelling any assumptions about a snap election ensuing from the early assembly meeting.
