In Saxony-Anhalt, state elections are taking place this coming Sunday. More than 26 events and protests have already been registered for the election weekend, posing challenges for the security authorities. According to reports, all available police forces will be deployed to ensure a smooth process.

Polls ahead of the election show the AfD leading with a significant gap over the CDU, but they are not expected to secure enough votes for an absolute majority. The Left and SPD are also losing support. The polling figures for the parties remain relatively stable, yet many voters remain undecided.

The election is viewed as critical and could influence the political landscape in Saxony-Anhalt and beyond. Nearly 1.7 million citizens are called to cast their votes and participate in the upcoming elections.

The remaining two days leading up to the election are crucial, as the parties have the opportunity to make their final persuasive efforts with voters. The AfD, in particular, plays a central role in this, although the exact distribution of voter support remains uncertain.
