In Lithuania and Latvia, many people still have to manage without power following the severe storms over the past weekend. Reports indicate that on Monday morning more than 120,000 households in Lithuania were affected, while over 87,000 households in Latvia were without electricity.
The damage to the distribution network was primarily caused by fallen trees and branches that were broken or uprooted during the strong winds. This has led to significant disruptions in the power supply of both Baltic states.
The national utility companies are working to repair the damage and gradually restore power. However, it has been reported that it may take some time before all households are supplied with electricity again.
