Social Security closes daycare center in Amadora due to irregularities
The daycare was closed after being flagged by the Municipal Police due to overcrowding and lack of adequate conditions.
Social Security has urgently and immediately closed a daycare center in Amadora, marking the third institution to be shut down since January. The closure followed an inspection that highlighted several irregularities, including overcrowding and insufficient qualified staff.
Out of the 50 children who were removed, 39 are under three years old and 11 are of preschool age. Social Security stated that the daycare posed an imminent risk to the health, safety, and well-being of the minors.
The daycare had already been subject to warnings from the Municipal Police, which pointed out inadequate conditions for the care of children, prompting the intervention of Social Security.
