Sophie Adenot, a French astronaut, is set to carry out her second spacewalk on Tuesday, August 25. The objective is to complete a mission that was left unfinished during her first outing the previous week, where she was unable to finish replacing a defective antenna.

The spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 2:35 PM Paris time. Sophie Adenot will be accompanied by her American colleague, Anil Menon, on this mission which takes them to an altitude of approximately 400 km.

This outing marks an important milestone for Adenot, who became the first French woman to venture into space during her previous mission. Her efforts to accomplish this essential work for the International Space Station (ISS) have been noteworthy.

RFI emphasizes that this operation had been challenging for Adenot, noting that she faced difficulties during her first attempt. The preparations for this spacewalk have not been straightforward, but the teams are confident that the work will be completed this time.

France 24 highlights the significance of this mission and the technological challenge it poses for space research, as Adenot continues her role in this ongoing scientific adventure.
