The Spanish government has reintroduced a set of housing measures, which was approved in the Council of Ministers. This package of 21 initiatives aims to combat rising rents and increase the housing supply in the country. The proposals were originally rejected by Parliament, which has been dissolved since the announcement of early elections scheduled for November.

The measures, which include the construction of more homes and easier access to affordable rent, will be put to a vote in the Diputación Permanente of the Congress. This body has the capacity to approve royal decrees during the electoral period, according to the Spanish Constitution.

The government leader, Pedro Sánchez, reiterated the importance of these measures, arguing that they are necessary to address the housing crisis currently facing the country. The approval in the Council of Ministers represents an effort to advance crucial legislation, even with Parliament not in operation.

The vote in the permanent committee will be the next step in this process, as the proposals cannot be discussed in plenary due to the current political situation in the country. Expectations focus on how these measures will be received, especially considering that parliamentary support is essential for their long-term implementation.

In addition to housing issues, reports have also covered a controversy involving coach Jorge Jesus, following accusations made by commentator Piers Morgan. Morgan criticized Jesus for allegedly failing to fulfill promises and for his analysis of Cristiano Ronaldo, referring to him as a player

while discussing the housing issue in the sports context.

The economic and social situation in Spain, particularly concerning housing, remains a central concern for the government and the population. The success or contestation of the proposed measures will be closely monitored, given the recent history of rejection in Parliament.
