The Spanish government has decided to establish border controls for Italian citizens in response to Italy's decision to maintain restrictions on Spaniards. These measures will take effect at midnight as part of the proportional actions that were previously announced.
This action has been prompted after Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni refused to lift the restrictions imposed on Spanish travelers, leading the Spanish executive to expedite its response in the form of border controls.
