The Spanish government has announced a significant increase in humanitarian aid for the region of Ceuta, raising the funding to €44.51 million. This amount marks a substantial increase compared to the previously available €6.4 million.
The decision to increase aid comes after the entry of over 72,000 migrants into Ceuta on July 30 and 31, prompting a response from the government. The minister in charge stated that the situation required an "extraordinary" response from the Spanish executive.
The measure aims to address the challenges posed by the influx of migrants and ensure necessary support for local authorities and individuals in need of assistance.
