The state visit of Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, has commenced. During this visit, the Emirati leadership aims to further deepen bilateral relations with Germany.

A central element of the visit is the announcement of an additional investment of €40 billion in Germany. These investments are expected to flow particularly into new data centers, according to a statement released in Berlin.

The pledged funds are also intended to support energy supply and existing supply chains. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz welcomed the head of state during his stay in Berlin.

According to reports, the United Arab Emirates intends to invest not only in infrastructure but also in sectors such as air travel. For instance, Emirates airline has been granted permission to fly to another German city.

The investments from the Emirates are part of a strategic partnership established more than two decades ago. The visit aims to renew and expand this partnership, which both countries consider important.

The announced €40 billion is intended as additional investments that go beyond existing financial resources. This development could impact various sectors, including energy and technology.
