Students organize protest in Lisbon against tuition fee unfreezing
Student associations are calling for a demonstration on October 21 in Lisbon against the government's proposal to unfreeze tuition fees starting in 2027.
Student associations from five higher education institutions have called for a protest on October 21 in Lisbon. The demonstration is scheduled for 5:00 PM in front of the government headquarters located at Campus XXI.
This protest arises in response to the proposed State Budget for 2027, which includes the unfreezing of tuition fees. Since 2020, tuition fees have been set at 697 euros, and the change proposed by the government could impact this amount.
Student representatives emphasized their opposition to this proposal, arguing that they will not allow it to proceed.
